Hi there. Been a while, huh?
Apparently I haven’t posted anything since July, 2019. I’m not sure what made me stop writing on this blog…I think it had a lot to do with my mental health and the job I had when I started this. I was in a job field I absolutely loved, but was stuck. I couldn’t advance or move up. I couldn’t get hired. I felt really hopeless. Finally, in late summer/early fall last year I decided to make the decision to leave the non-profit world, and enter the corporate world. Like non-profits, everyone has a different experience with the corporate world, and I can happily say mine so far has been amazing. I haven’t loved a job since I worked at my university’s archives in college. And I really loved that job. I’m really happy I made the change when I did. It’s been a busy first year to say the least, but I have grown a lot in my professional life.
However, with a new, busier, job, I quickly noticed my reading habits had changed and I wasn’t reading as much. Where I used to read six or seven books a month I was now reading maybe three or four if it was a good month. I wanted to come back to this space to start writing again, but felt like I didn’t have enough content to make it worth wile. There was no way I’d have bandwidth to post every day or every other day, so instead of adapting…I just stopped.
I want to ease back into this space again because I have missed this. I miss talking about books, reading your reviews, and finding new books to read. But more importantly I miss writing and having a creative outlet. I miss having a hobby. 😉
I can’t promise I will post on a regular schedule; probably mainly later in the week and on the weekends. I will definitely be posting more food content because I have done a lot of cooking this year. It’s been my one outlet to help the pandemic anxiety.
I’ll share what I’ve read in 2020 soon. Heads up, it’s not great.
